The Six-Step Process

David Magill Builders are renowned for their reliability, attention to detail and transparency. Take a look at these six simple steps to building your new home, from concept development, right through to handing over the keys.

Step 1 – Nice to meet you

Dreaming of your perfect home? At your first meeting with the friendly David Magill Builders team, we’ll talk about what you want to achieve, from budget through to must-haves.

Step 2 – The next step

There are a few things we’ll need to check out, such as the position of your section and any boundaries or views. We’ll ensure the best features of your property are taken into consideration.

Step 3 – Imagination Is Key - Let’s Talk Design & Build

We’ll prepare concept drawings that include site and floor plans, elevations and colour ideas for your new home. A draft budget will also be prepared based on our discussions.

Step 4 – The finer details

Our team will work out all the nuts and bolts (literally) for building your new home. We’ll also finalise your new home drawings and pricing, so you’re completely ready to sign up for your new home.

Step 5 – Nearly there

Working drawings to guide the construction of your new home will be completed and submitted to local authorities for building consent. Once this is in hand, construction can start. A close eye will be kept on the project from the start, right through to when the final Code of Compliance is issued.

Step 6 – Welcome home

We’ll keep you regularly updated on progress during the entire build, and then hand over the keys so you can move into your new David Magill home.
